Fourteen unpublished paintings by Maurice Utrillo, the artist renowned for quintessential Paris street scenes, will be coming up for sale on November 23.

The paintings are the highpoint of the Pierre Levasseur collection to be offered for sale at Drouot by Tessier Sarrou and have been in the possession of the same family since their creation in the early years of the 20th century. Levasseur, who built up a successful business as an aeronautical constructor, was also an early supporter and agent for Utrillo, contracting him to supply seven paintings a month for a fee of 2000 francs.
Pictured here is his view of the Place du Tertre and the Sacré Coeur painted c.1917, which is guided at €60,000-70,000.
The sale also contains correspondence between Utrillo, his mother Suzanne Valadon, the artist André Utter and Lavasseur as well as a selection of furniture and works of art.
