The exploitation rights to Hergé’s work belong exclusively, and worldwide, to the company Moulinsart, located at 162 avenue Louise, 1050 Brussels. Any reproduction, adaptation, translation, publication, distribution, performance, or public communication, in any form, on any medium, and by any means whatsoever, as well as any reproduction of derivative works, is prohibited without prior written authorization.

For original works

In accordance with applicable law (Article L122-8, Articles R122-2 to 122-12 of the Intellectual Property Code), the buyer-bidder is liable for the resale royalty in favor of the artists and authors of the works sold at auction, in addition to the total sale price of the item when the hammer price exceeds 750; the resale royalty applies to living artists or those who have been deceased for less than 70 years. This obligation remains in effect even if the claim for these rights is made after the sale and removal of the lot, with no time limit. The auction house will not intervene in disputes regarding the validity of a claim for the resale right. The total amount of the resale right payable for a single lot may not exceed 12,500 euros. We calculate the amount due as follows: Resale right for the portion of the hammer price (in euros) • 4% up to 50,000 • 3% between 50,000.01 and 200,000 • 1% between 200,000.01 and 350,000 • 0.50% between 350,000.01 and 500,000 • above 500,000 euros, the lower of 0.25% or 12,500 euros.
