AVRANDINIS
A self-taught artist from Marseille, known for her flagship creations, wall hangings.
A few years ago, inheriting a large quantity of old trousseau sheets, she began experimenting with natural pigments and spontaneous white pastel drawings. Flat planes of intense mineral colors, brushed on with a large brush, canvases with clean edges, distinctive lines that undulate only to break, variable geometries evoking the arid spaces of an indefinite south: Avrandinis' style is slowly taking shape.
Since 2020, in partnership with a silkscreen workshop, his poetic schemes have been produced in small, limited editions on hand-painted canvases.
Each of his series - Uomo, Antic Idéal,Sfax, Bandes Passantes, Vagues, Vénus - echoes themes and emotions related to his own history, and invites you to collect them and make your own composition.
In this catalog, the artist presents a selection of original paintings and canvases, studies for various projects and collaborations, originals from which are reproduced hangings, drawings... offering a more intimate immersion in his universe.
The result is a proposal of different works over 10 years, many of them large-format, mixing interior and exterior landscapes, making the contours of a body appear and disappear, fragments of cities and horizons, Mediterranean scenes and landscapes that oscillate between pleasure and tension, echoing her own ambivalence and the Marseilles universe in which she evolves.
Lots can be collected from the studio by appointment.
