On September 20, Tessier - Sarrou will auction the cellar of one of Paris's finest addresses, Maison Prunier, at Hôtel Drouot. This superb restaurant, with its Art Deco façade covered in turquoise-blue mosaics, has been located on avenue Victor-Hugo (16th arrondissement) since 1925, and has welcomed the Tout-Paris, including a wealthy clientele from all over the world.
For a century, it has been much more than a table - it's a discreet witness to Parisian history and gastronomic rituals, where great wines are carefully selected to accompany caviar and seafood.
After Francis Scott Fitzgerald, who is said to have completed Gatsby the Magnificent there, many other celebrities have crossed paths and frequented the restaurant to this day, from Jean Coteau to Ernest Hemingway, from Marilyn Monroe to Yves Montand. It's said that Colette had a habit here, that Joséphine Baker ordered lobster, and that Salvador Dalí once asked for a dish "as extravagant as his mind", which was accompanied without batting an eyelid by a sublime Montrachet. Blum, Briand, Herriot: politics was already an open table here.
Each bottle tells the story of a chapter in the history of this great house: the after-theater dinners, the ambassadorial lunches, the nights of celebration that only the capital can offer. A whole era lies behind these weathered labels.
Today, a page is being turned. Elegantly, this cellar is being unveiled to share its treasures with connoisseurs of fine wines and spirits.
The Maison Prunier cellar invites you to discover exceptional bottles, including Premiers Grands Crus de Bordeaux, Grands Crus de Bordeaux, champagnes and spirits.
