Vincent Dufresne was born in 1964.
A French painter, he is a matiériste/colorist (trained at IPEDEC - atelier Jean-Pierre Bezenval and Guigue Locca).
He knows and uses ancient painting techniques.
Vincent Dufresne is also a color creator: he masters the techniques and secrets of mixing, he knows the materials and their interactions with colors.
Share my passion for modern and contemporary art. Share my work.
Adding and removing color and matter until I find a light that emerges like an apparition. It's a slow obsession.
Grinding pigment, playing with colors, hoping for their explosions, their silences.
Superimposing layers, like a construction, to get as close as possible to the visitor's eye. Doing and undoing until my painting takes a turn.
Expression rather than message. Life rather than chaos.
The painting as a window open to others. The painting as consolation.
A painter with a passion for color and materials, I studied ancient painting techniques with the artisans of the Viaduc des Arts.
I enjoy browsing through artist monographs, museums, galleries and exhibitions.
Self-taught, I've been lucky enough to work in a street-side studio, at 8 rue de la Vrillière Paris 1er, since 2018.
Many thanks to Arnaud Bisson and Éric Lécuyer for their friendship and support.
Thanks to you, Aude and Vincent, for giving me this chance to show my work.
