The simplicity of BABAHOUM's drawings is disarming and truly moving, with people mingling with animals without any perspective and with magnificent naivety.

We immediately fell in love with this artist, who at the age of 70 began drawing scenes of everyday life on recycled cardboard packaging.

His art brut is reminiscent of American folk art and, more broadly, the work of artists who draw their inspiration from their own lives...

His reputation extends beyond the borders of Morocco (Essaouira, Tangier), to Brussels and Paris.

Exhibitions and international auctions follow one another, such as the "Aux frontières de l'Art Brut" exhibition at the Halle Saint Pierre from September 20, 2023 to February 25, 2024.

One of BABAHOUM's works is part of the Cabinet d'Arts Graphiques collection at the Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg).
