In accordance with current legislation Article L122-8, Articles R122-2 to 122-12 of the French Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle, the buyer-bidder is required to pay a droit de suite to the artists and authors of the works sold at auction, in addition to the total sale price of the item when the auction price exceeds €750; droit de suite applicable to living artists or artists who have been deceased for less than 70 years. This obligation applies even if the claim for these rights is made after the sale and removal of the lot, with no time limit.
