His work, which can be compared to action painting, is particularly well known in the USA where he lived and taught. His paintings and decorations on the theme of space have earned him commissions from NASA, his paintings are part of the collections of some forty American museums. In Paris, he restored the painted ceilings of the Lasserre restaurant.

J. VIGOT was born in 1948 in the Manche region of France. Both a painter and a jazz musician, he has taught art all his life. His works are an ode to the fantasy of colors and forms, with poetic titles not devoid of humor. He was a student of Gustave SINGIER at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and was encouraged in his career by Daniel HUMAIR of whom he was a friend. In addition to numerous exhibitions in France and abroad, being present in multiple private collections, he also created stained glass windows for the Chapel of Baptresse in 2013. He passed away in 2018.
