ART BRUT / ART SINGULIER

During this auction, 396 lots from the "DIDIER SIMON" Collection will be sold.

The artists are mostly French and Anglo-Saxon, often grouped under the term Art Brut / Art Singulier (for the French) or Outsider Art (for foreigners).

The collection acquired over a period of twenty years owes its coherence to the choice of works in which colour, the power of themes and expression predominate, and is characterised by the surprising creativity of these self-taught artists.

The supports are varied: paper, canvas, recycled wood, newspaper or magazine, cardboard, listing paper ...

It is worth noting the presence of 12 lots of works by JABER (artist born in 1938 belonging to the Cérès Franco collection), 8 by Purvis YOUNG (Afro-American artist from the Overtown district of Miami born in 1943 and deceased in 2010) and 10 by Gus FINK (artist born in the mountains of Pennsylvania, who drew a world of imaginary characters from an early age).
