Paperweight in rosewood, satinwood and mahogany veneer It opens with three leaves, the central one is topped by a drawer decorated with a medallion inlaid and stained with a winged goddess. Mounts with cut sides ended by cambered feet. Cornice with doucine topped with a white veined marble and embedded. Beautiful ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes such as: friezes of acanthus leaves, horns of plenty, baguettes, Greek and acanthus leaves, garlands of laurels, leafy hooves. End of the 19th century. H. 140 cm = L. 120 cm = D. 38 cm. The cabinetmakers of the second half of the 19th century marked their bronzes with their initials. A leafy sabot is marked G E D, initials that may correspond to those of Gervais Antoine Maximilien Durand (*)
