REVOLUTION / GERS. AUCH. Decree of the National Convention, dated the first day of the second month of the second year of the Republic [October 22, 1793]. Poster (52 x 42 cm) printed in Auch by J. P. Duprat, 1793. Official document from the Reign of Terror concerning agricultural regulations and the defense of farmers. Signed by the People’s Representatives attached to the Army of the Western Pyrenees (J. Pinet the Elder, Garrau, and J. B. B. Monestier). This manifesto, intended for the Southwest, urges the “brave sans-culottes” and farmers to take up arms against speculators, hoarders, and supporters of tyranny. Handwritten note in the upper right margin. Printed in three columns; normal creases, minimal foxing, and slight soiling along the edges.
