Uderzo and Goscinny, Jehan Pistolet, panel no. 14 (labeled 1 - Lot 256

Uderzo and Goscinny, Jehan Pistolet, panel no. 14 (labeled 191), drawn in India ink, from the episode “Jehan Pistolet and the Mad Scientist,” published in *Libre Junior* (a supplement to the newspaper *La Libre Belgique*) no. 8 on February 22, 1956. This story was included in the complete collection published by Editions Albert René in 2013. It strikes a perfect balance between Goscinny’s sharp humor and the artist’s masterful line work. Here we meet the resourceful and courageous sailor who finds himself caught up in a case involving a brilliant but dangerous scientist. This composition, which exudes adventure, is enhanced by flawless, dynamic, and expressive inking. Note Goscinny’s presence in the first and fourth panels. The dynamic lines are effectively highlighted by the transparency of the colors on the reverse side of the page. Signed by Uderzo and Goscinny. Dimensions: 52.8 x 43.3 cm.
