Hanukkah Menorah - Lot 103
Hanukkah Menorah Openwork, engraved, and repoussé brass Middle East, 20th century H. 43.5 x W. 32 cm This Hanukkah lamp features an elaborate design, engraved and openwork with abundant floral motifs, along with embossed birds on either side of Stars of David. The lamp consists of eight wick compartments shaped like birds with open beaks, as well as a ninth on the central pediment, housing the shamash wick used to light the eight lights. On either side of the eight light sources are two candlesticks shaped like architectural elements. It rests on fish-shaped legs. A hanging ring on the back allowed it to be hung on a wall.
