III) Leonardi Ryssenii Justa detestatio sceleratissimi libelli Adriani Beverlandi, de Peccato Originali; Gorinchem, Mathias Lever, 1680. Violent attack on Beverland's Treatise on Original Sin, which attributes the Fall from Paradise solely to the carnal commerce of Adam and Eve, followed by a very pure Poetica descriptio creationis et lapsus. The work was nevertheless placed on the index in 1700. First edition. Beverland, attacked by Catholic authorities and fellow Calvinists alike, was banished from Holland in 1680, and settled in London, where he died insane in 1716.
