LALIQUE René (1860-1945). - Lot 26
LALIQUE René (1860-1945).
"Oats and insect".
Rare comb in blond horn, the two long prongs finely sculpted with plant stems and buds or flowers intermingled. The delicacy of the carving of the flower clusters and leaves is as realistic as a herbarium plate.
In the center of the composition, a small beetle in honey-yellow molded glass is placed and stapled on a gold plate.
Minor restoration to a flower.
Engraved signature on reverse.
Height: 18.5 cm Width: 8.5 cm
The piece is referenced as an "Oats and Insects" comb, but this should be corrected as it is made of buckwheat stalks and flowers.
