RIBOT Claude (1934-2010) - Lot 110
RIBOT Claude (1934-2010)
Untitled / Graphite on paper / Signed and dated 90 lower right / 22.2 x 16.2 cm in a paper format measuring 32 x 24 cm
Born in Le Mans, Claude Ribot (1934-2010) was a sculptor, modeler and draughtsman who devoted his entire life to artistic creation. Trained at the Beaux-Arts,
his work is both tender and tragic, powerful and humorous, with an incredible vitality.
Animated by cross-hatching, his drawings convey the pulsations of the world; a world in motion, testifying to a great graphic freedom with the human body, animals and objects, interlocking and superimposing as if in transparency.
A selection of his drawings can be seen at the Galerie des Oubliés (Nantes) and in the "hors-Tomi" collection at the Musée Tomi Ungerer- Centre international de l'Illustration (Strasbourg).
