Artist's biography:
Jinks Kunst is a Franco-Swiss street artist born in 1976 in Vevey, Switzerland. He lives and works in Nantes.
His adolescence was marked by hip-hop and skateboard culture. Magazines, fanzines and record covers led him to discover the graffiti and illustrations of artists such as Lazoo and Mode 2.
He first tried his hand at graffiti lettering, and over the years his practice became multidisciplinary: collage of posters and stickers, painting, land art, photography, hijacking of road signs. He works on a variety of media: walls, wood, skateboard decks, vinyl records and more.
In 2006, he began stenciling. It was a real revelation, and an all-consuming passion that has never left him. His creations are all handmade. Armed with a cutter, he painstakingly carves out life-size works inspired by current affairs, politics, literature, urban culture and animal life.
In January 2008, he began hijacking road signs in Nantes, then around the world.
Regularly exhibited since the early 2000s, both in France and abroad, his work can also be found in various private collections, and reproduced in several international works devoted to street art.
Intervening in the streets of the world is a necessity for Jinks Kunst.
His stencils, posters, stickers and paintings can be seen on walls and road signs in over 30 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
