Léonard Boudin (1735-1804), Paris. Received the title of Master on March 4, 1761.
He set up his studio on rue Traversiére, where he received commissions from a number of renowned merchants, including Migeon, and quickly acquired a great reputation. He made a name for himself above all with his highly varied marquetry, worked with finesse and perfection. Boudin's legacy includes furniture in the Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI styles, all of which are still excellently crafted and whose veneers and m arqueteries define the particular and characteristic "Boudin style".
