NIMIER Roger :
Correspondence with Pol Vandromme. Set of some forty short, signed, typescript letters addressed to Pol Vandromme from the '50s to '62. On Gallimard letterhead, he talks about his writings (and their publication with Gallimard, Tintin, Aymé...), literary criticism of his own publications and those of Gallimard's protégés. And some fine passages on his friends (DEON, BLONDIN, HAEDENS, CAILLEUX, VIALATTE,CELINE...). Some tasty passages: "it will no doubt be useful for you to see Hergé again, to describe his life and work properly (if I may say so!)", "you absolutely must become a Freemason or something like that, you can't stay in this deplorable condition of right-wing writer". Finally, several letters reveal that Vandromme was covering for Nimier with his fictitious presence at his home to take advantage of a few days in hiding. Also enclosed are a letter from Nadine Nimier, 3 letters from his secretariat and a duplicate of a letter from Nimier to Hergé about the world of Tintin.
