Rare portière or panel of gold and polychrome thread embroidery in couchure and point lancé, known as au p assé empiétant. It is decorated with foliage and flowers on a gold field with a gold border. The center features a coat of arms surmounted by a ducal crown. Southern Italy or Genoa, 18th century. 220 x 116 cm. Similar works are kept at the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land in Jerusalem.
