FRENCH SCHOOL, circa 1700 Portrait of the painter Antoon van Dyck (1599-1641) Oil on canvas, mounted on panel, (extensive restoration). 53 x 46 cm Remake of the famous self-portrait painted around 1630, formerly in the collection of Everhard Jabach, acquired by Louis XIV in 1671, then placed in Versailles as an oval overdoor in the "salon où le roi s'habille" (now the King's bedroom) in 1682 (68 x 58 cm, inv. MV7316).
