Lot of 2 preparatory drawings for important Art Deco corsage - Lot 33
Lot of 2 preparatory drawings for important Art Deco corsage brooches, probably by René-Sim Lacaze for Van Cleef & Arpels, in platinum, diamonds and emeralds, enhanced with onyx for one and turquoise for the other, formed by a barrette holding two mobile pendants, circa 1925/30.
A similar model, attributed to Van Cleef & Arpels, was sold at HVMC on July 17, 2023, under lot 5. The female profiles are reminiscent of certain drawings in the Van Cleef & Arpels archives, illustrated in the reference work and also in the book Van Cleef & Arpels, L'art de la haute joaillerie, by Possémé Evelyne, de Jouvenel Anne, Lacquemant Jacqueline, Motsch Sophie, Les Arts décoratifs, Paris, 2012.
3 preparatory drawings for diamond and sapphire ribbon bracelets. Gouache and pencil on tracing paper (small stains, slight edge tears).
Bibliography: Possémé Evelyne, de Jouvenel Anne, Lacquemant Jacqueline, Motsch Sophie, Van Cleef & Arpels, L'art de la haute joaillerie, Les Arts décoratifs, Paris, 2012.
