18k (750e) gold ball ring, centered on a claw-set faceted ov - Lot 17
18k (750e) gold ball ring, centered on a claw-set faceted oval emerald in a braided setting paved with old-cut diamonds.
Emerald weight: approx. 1.10 carats
Diamond weight: approx. 3.60 carats overall
Circa 1960/70.
Gross weight: 11.80 g. Finger size: 56.
The ring we are presenting was made by reusing stones from a jewel that once belonged to Viscountess Blanche de Bray, great-aunt of the commissioner and mother of the famous singer Yvonne Printemps. Since then, this precious jewel has remained in the family.
It's hard not to draw parallels between the lattice motif of this ring and other emblematic Boivin creations, some of which have already been sold at auction.
