One of 40 ex. on Pur fil, this one n°III among the 10 hors commerce, second paper after 5 Japon. Autograph letter signed on title page "to Henri Desgrange, to whom could this book be dedicated more warmly than by the ex-jeune-homme-au-manteau-de-demi-saison? Sincerely Montherlant". This copy contains a signed autograph letter to the same author apologizing half-heartedly to him, stating that he has kept a youthful heart, thanking him for his appreciation, and then recommending a passage in the book. One page in-4 mounted on tab. Bound in-8 in black half-box, smooth spine, titraege in gold lettering, under the title the Olympic rings in color, date at foot, black paper boards imitating wood, gilt head, covers, spine and witnesses preserved, binding signed Mercher.
