Jean-Marc BERNARD :
Letters to Gaston PICARD.
Set of 13 letters and 2 autographed cards, first signed on his paper about Jean Ernest-Charles' aggression, then about the war, with a photo of himself commented on by him and a moving letter sent shortly before his death at the front: "the colonel didn't want to accept this proposal, saying that I'd only done my duty - and he's right! bah! the war isn't over yet, and I'll have many other opportunities to earn a commendation and the Croix de Guerre". The war isn't over yet, and I'll have plenty of other opportunities to earn a commendation and the Croix de Guerre". Added to the set are two autograph cards addressed to Picard, whose author we have not identified, and an autograph letter signed by Béatrix Dussane to Charles Maurras recalling the memory of Jean-Marc Bernard. Bound in-8 full green paper, bradel style, smooth spine, title-piece on black leather, trace of rubbing with missing hinges and spine at head and tail.
