Abel BONNARD: - Lot 46
Abel BONNARD:
La Corse.
Manuscript of 9p. in-8 in black ink mounted on tabs, typescript version opposite. Text on Corsica with margin corrections, erasures, drawings of a pavilion on a boat and sketch of two seabirds. This copy is crammed with pages of notes and a long autograph letter signed by John Antoine NAU, dated November 30, 1909, in which he speaks of Corsica in a nuanced way, where he is ill and lacks sunshine.
Bound in-8 in full blue bradel paper, on the first cover a colorized map of Corsica pastedown, with in the corners the arms of Ajaccio, a view of the harbor, Napoleon and Paoli, smooth spine, title-piece on black leather barely lightened, gold lettering.
