Naval officer's saber model 1837. Gilded brass mounting with two main guard arms joined by an openwork plate decorated with naval anchor and interlacing. Curved quillon and finely chased cap. Horn spindle, watermark missing. Slightly curved blade with snap ring. Leather whip with three gilded brass fittings, cap decorated with naval anchor. Includes officer's belt. Total length 86 cm. France, mid-19th century.
