Brass pocket sundial, equinoctial model with octagonal baseplate, bearing a compass and an adjustable equatorial circle. The plate is decorated with military attributes. The style-axis is a thin needle, perpendicularly soldered to a diametral crosspiece of the ring. A compass is fixed to the center of the plate. A small bracket supports a plumb line. A graduated sector adjusts the inclination of the dial according to latitude.
