Automobile Club de France Paris. Ill. 60. Société d'automobile Delahaye was founded in 1894 by engineer Émile Delahaye (1843-1905). It produced cars with electric ignition, as well as trucks. During the First World War (1914-1918), the company concentrated on the production of heavy and agricultural vehicles. In the 1920s, it also produced luxury vehicles. The productivity of competitors Citroën, Renault and Peugeot forced the company to join forces with Chenard and Walcker.
