Saint Catherine of Alexandria (?) in carved and polychromed - Lot 153
Saint Catherine of Alexandria (?) in carved and polychromed limestone, rough back. Standing, holding an open book in her right hand, she wears a gold-plated headband over wavy hair. Her face is round, her mouth small and her chin slightly pointed. She is dressed in a tunic, a belted dress and a leotard adorned with cabochons of jewels. She wears a mantle held to her chest by a cord, the hem also adorned with large cabochons, and a flap tucked under her right arm, forming deep, beak-shaped pleats. Champagne, first quarter of the 16th century H. 110 cm (accidents, restorations, visible missing parts)
