JAPAN, OWARI SCHOOL - Middle EDO Period (1603 - 1868) Openwork iron maru gata in yo-sukashi with ebira (quiver) character and plum blossom. Unsigned. H. 7,65 cm Wooden box. NBTHK certificate n°4015289 The decoration of the ebira character and the plum blossom is an allusion to the battle of the Ikuta forest in 1184, where Kajiwara Kagesue (1162- 1200), samurai under Minamoto no Yoritomo, fought with a plum branch in his quiver.
