Half-hull of the J-Class "Endeavour" in mahogany and stained wood, made by modeler Scott Chambers 20th century L. 90 cm A business graduate of Central Washington State University, Mr. Chambers took over his family's 120-year-old shipbuilding business. He turned to the creation of half-hull models in 1973, hoping through his art to help "preserve this nation's rich maritime heritage". His pieces can be seen in many yacht clubs on the East and West Coasts, including the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, as well as in various restaurants and private collections across the USA.
