The Medea is a 1904 steam yacht housed at the Maritime Museum in San Diego, USA. Named after Medea, wife of the Greek mythological hero Jason, she was built on the Clyde at the Alexander Stephen and Sons shipyard for William Macalister-Hall of Torrisdale Castle, Scotland. The French Navy purchased the Medea during the First World War and fitted her with a 75 mm gun for convoy escort. She was renamed "Corneille". During the Second World War, she was requisitioned by the Royal Navy for anchor barrage balloons at the mouth of the Thames.
After the war, it had several owners and was finally purchased and fully restored by Paul Wittier in 1971.
It was then donated to the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
