DAMSLETH Harald. See the bright summer-nights of Norway. 1937. Lithographic poster. Published by the Norwagian State Railways 1937. Printed in Norway. Norsk Lithografisk Officin - Oslo. Uncoated, fair condition: folds, paper slightly marked, soiling, small edge tears, fresh colors. 100 x 61.5 cm Harald Damsleth (1906-1971) worked as an illustrator for Norway's national tourist industry (1931-1938) and as a freelance illustrator. He produced over 5,000 paintings, posters and images during his 40-year career. The depiction of this picturesque village in the countryside offers a romantic glimpse of Norwegian culture to attract American travelers.
