Such was Lucien Michard: world champion in 1923, and French federal champion, French military champion, world champion, Olympic champion in 1924, world professional sprint champion in 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930. He won the French championship in 1933, 1934 and 1935, the Grand Prix de Paris in 1935 and 1936, the U.C.I. Grand Prix and the Critérium national d'hiver in 1937.
