Victor VASARELY (1906-1997) - Lot 110
Victor VASARELY (1906-1997) Pal Or, 1970 Acrylic on canvas Signed lower center, countersigned, titled and dated on back 200 x 200 cm (small cracks, small rubs, small stains, tiny trace of Chassis, canvas slightly warped in the middle) Provenance: acquired from a New York gallery on Madison Avenue by the current owner in the summer of 1972. From 1968 onwards, Vasarely played with the deformation of lines to define his "universal structures", then embarked on the famous "Vega and Pal" periods, in which the swellings induced by the deformation of the elements that make them up translate forms that escape the plane to create his spectacular volumes. The artist seeks to evoke the elusive universe of galaxies, cosmic pulsations and the biological mutation of the cell. Import VAT at 5.5% in addition to sales charges A certificate of authenticity may be requested from Pierre VASARELY, at the purchaser's expense.
