Gisèle LACROIX (née en 1935), sculpteur - Lot 77
Gisèle LACROIX (née en 1935), sculpteur The Orants Four original plaster casts H. 160 cm, H. 174 cm, H. 190 cm, and H. 174 cm Grand Prix Charles Malfray 2007 If this artist expresses herself willingly through plaster, it is because it gives her the possibility of a real freedom, she says. Gisèle Lacroix feels the need to work this material whose plasticity offers a thousand possibilities, to have a direct contact with it, her fingers transforming the inert into living according to her creative needs. This sculptor stylizes the volumes without any dryness, she opens us the doors of an elsewhere in an interesting rewriting and her filiform characters, with the stretched body, possess something of bewitching. Unreal and present, eternal sentinels, often symbolic, they are integrated into our time. Gisèle Lacroix follows her path without complacency. She looks for an order in the different planes, nuances the modelling, simplifies the form which only becomes more expressive.
