His account is full of pungent details of the captain's career since 1791. The plates, lithographed by Engelmann, show maps (Amsterdam Island, Juan de Fucas Strait, Queen Charlotte Channel, Bokerelle harbor) and natural history (sea wolves, sea lion hunting). A fine copy (despite a small printer's ink stain on pp. 66, v.1) bound in contemporary pamphlet.
