Exceptional giltwood salon set comprising eight armchairs, a sofa and a decorative fire screen in tapestries from the Royal Aubusson Manufactory from the late 18th century Circa 1780, Louis XVI-style seating In silk and wool, the seats depicting the fables of La Fontaine after Jean-Baptiste Oudry, and the backs, including the fire screen, also after Jubier's country engravings (found in the oval paintings exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in New York). This is a rare and exceptional set of well-preserved tapestries.
