Theatrum orbis terrarum, sive Atlas novus. Tertia pars cum appendice I & II Partium antehac editarum. Amsterdam, Johannes & Cornelius Blaeu, 1640. large folio, publisher's vellum, spine with ornate bands, gilt decoration on the boards, gilt edges (period binding). First edition in Latin of this third part devoted to Italy and Greece. It is illustrated with a title magnificently colored at the time, and 86 copper engraved maps, finely colored at the time (as indicated in the table): 58 on Italy, 4 for Greece and 24 for the Appendix. In the Appendix, one will note the presence of maps on the northern regions, Russia, Spain, Germany, as well as a map on Florida. Beautiful copy preserved in its original vellum. Some foxing, frontispiece a little rubbed on the right side.
