Germinal. For the hundred bibliophiles Paris 1912. First edition illustrated by Paul-Emile COLIN. Limited edition of 120 copies on watermarked paper, this one n°102 printed for Henri Vever. Two volumes, volume I with an original unsigned painting, volume II with two preparatory drawings for unsigned illustrations, the invitation and the menu for the annual general meeting of the hundred bibliophiles association. With the invitation is indicated the program of this day including tenders of drawings, woodcuts etc. by Colin for the illustration of this book, a pencil note underlines that the owner of this book bought the 8th lot: a complete suite drawn separately, this one bound to the suite of the text. Each volume bound in-4 full plum morocco, spine with 5 raised bands, gold lettering, date at foot, three gilt edges, half plum morocco folders, spine with 5 raised bands, gold lettering, date at foot, slipcase, illustrated covers and spine kept, binding signed CANAPE. In the first volume : on the first cover an inlaid leather representing a couple supporting each other in the great plains of the North, on the second cover the original wood "Le déjeuner des Maheu" which illustrates p.19. In the second volume : on the first plate an inlaid leather representing a miner carrying the inert body of one of his young companions in the mine, on the second plate the original wood "Le baiser de la Mouquette" which illustrates p.315 of the first volume
