[NULLY de GROSSERVE] SAINT GELAIS Octavien de, et LA VIGNE André de :
The vergier of honor. In-4 full brown calf, in the center of the boards : the arms on red leather of the library of NULLY de GROSSERVE de BEAUVAIS, a restoration in the center of the second board, spine with 5 nerves adorned with fleur-de-lys irons, title piece on red leather, three red edges. Printed in Paris by Michel and Philippe Le Noir, s.d. [ca. 1520]. Printed in gothic letters, on two columns of 53 lines, initials. Title page rubricated in red and black, decorated with an initial L with grotesque decoration and stork head, on the back a large engraved plate. In-text 5 wood-engravings as well as that of the printer Michel Lenoir on the back of the last leaf. Some notes or drawings in brown ink in the margins. Ex-libris of the lawyer Gilbert de Mainssonnat, the one with his arms on the first counter cover, the one with his figure on the second. Also the one of Marcel Desjardins, MD "c'est mon amy le moins fou". And a third unidentified, numbered GD crowned. Some traces of wetness in the inner margin. Although the work is generally attributed to Octovien de Saint-Gelais, most of it seems to come from the pen of André de la Vigne, secretary to Queen Anne of Brittany. Rare.
