In-octavo full red morocco, spine with 5 nerves, gold lettering, date and place at the foot, counter covers with roulette, three red speckled edges, binding signed Fred Bakala. Printed in Paris by Jean Petit on June 4, 1531. Printed in gothic letters, two columns of 45 lines and notes in the margin. Lettering. Title page with woodcut framing where the initials and the name of the printer appear, and rubricated in red. Complete with the last leaf with the printer's woodcut. 60 woodcuts in-text. A few short leaves at the head, rare stains otherwise fresh interior. One of the most famous texts of the Middle Ages and the first French "classic".
