Very elegant dialogue entitled the Peregrin. In-8 full calf, spine with 5 nerves decorated with gilding, title page on red leather, gold lettering, hinges rubbed, three red speckled edges Printed in Paris by Galliot Du Pré on March 25, 1527. Printed in gothic letters, one column of 38 lines. Letters. Title page rubricated in red. Complete with the three full-page woodcuts and the printer's woodcut on the verso of the last leaf. First edition of the French translation, by François d'Assy, secretary to King Henry II and to the Duchess Louise de Valentinois, daughter of Caesar Borgia. Small stains on the first three leaves, marginal spotting and wormholes on the last ten leaves otherwise fresh inside. Published at the time of Francis I and dedicated to Lucrezia Borgia, this love and adventure novel inspired by Boccaccio was a great success.
