De coniuratione Catilinae. Followed by De bello iugurthi. In-folio, wooden boards with a few wormholes and small lacks without gravity, half leather decorated with border and cold fleurons, spine with 3 nerves, a restoration at the tail of the spine, slightly rubbed jaws. Printed in Venice, Johanis Colonie Agripinesis et Johanis Manthen de Gherretshem [26 March ?] 1476. Rare edition according to Brunet, which "begins with the author's text without any title. The conspiracy of Catilina ends on the verso of the 21st f., and the war of Jugurtha on the verso of the 63rd, after which is the subscription followed by 12f. which contain the life of Sallustus and the Invictivae of Sallustus, Cicero and Catilina " An illuminated lettering marks the passage from The Conjuring of Catlilina to The War of Jugurtha: 38 x 41 mm, green, red, blue and gold leaf. The letter F is decorated with floral designs. Other initials, by hand and more "summary" in blue and red. Missing pages, so they are replaced by handwritten pages: - the incipit and beginning of the text in one page recto verso, numerous abbreviations. - paragraph XIX to almost the penultimate sentence of chap. XXIV in two pages recto verso. These two handwritten passages do not seem to be in the same hand, the second one later. Some handwritten notes in the margins as well as a small drawing of a hand pointing to the text. On the back cover a beginning of a handwritten summary. A few traces of moisture on the page edges, rare wormholes, the second handwritten passage and the printed leaf that follows it disbound, fresh interior overall.
