TIRMARCHE Maurice - Lot 167
TIRMARCHE Maurice The Bewitching Visions of Maurice Tirmarche. Gallery Bosquet. October 20 to November 10, 1972. Serigraphy. No mention of printer. Not on canvas, good condition: small folds in the edge. 75 x 56 cm Maurice Tirmarche (1909-?) is a French painter and draughtsman whose work ranged from expressionism to surrealism, passing suddenly to Op Art, with which he probably completed his Life's Work. His graphic and serigraphic works of 1972 that we present, use black and white lines to try to create the illusion of movement or vibration and give a hallucinogenic impression. Maurice Tirmarche thus rubs shoulders with the legends of this direction Bridget Riley or Victor Vasarely.
