Evening dress in apricot silk crepe. Straight shape, barely flared, pointed neckline, sleeveless. Work of knotted bangs with geometric pattern. Spring/Summer 1930 (small stains) Iconography : Model "CYGNE NOIR", ref. GAL2013.38.10.60, Palais Galliera. Marcelle Dormoy (1895-1976) began her career at Redfern, Arnold and Poiret, for whom she modeled for a time. She was first in the Vionnet workshop before opening her own couture house on rue de la Trémouille in December 1928. She took refuge in Biarritz with Jean Patou during the Occupation and resumed her activity after the Liberation before closing her house for good in 1950.
