[1890], large in-8, unbound. 31 pp. 9 plates out of text under serpents, including 2 plans. Francisco Pascasio Moreno (1852-1919), a scholar with a multifaceted activity, was also the founder in 1872 of the Museo de historia natural de La Plata (previously Museo arqueologico y antropologico), for which he travelled all over Argentina from 1882 to 1891 in search of artifacts for the collections. The institution was first established in Buenos Aires, still the capital of the province of the same name, and then transferred to La Plata when the federalization of the Argentine capital (1880) led to the transfer of the provincial capital to La Plata (1882).
