GIORGIO DE CHIRICO
15 autograph letters signed to Henri Parisot. 17 pp. ½ in-4 and in-8. Rome, 1962-1968. Correspondence dedicated to the re-publication of Hebdomeros. Published for the first time in 1929 under the title "Hebdomeros. The painter and his genius in the writer", this autobiographical fantasy was republished in 1964 in the collection the Golden Age, directed by Parisot. "I will have no difficulty in having Flammarion publish a new edition of my novel Hebdomeros [...]. I regret to say that I find this contract not at all advantageous for me. If I give my book to a French publisher it is so that this book is published in France only and not so that the publisher has the right to translate it in all countries [...]". He imposes his conditions: "1° Agreed as regards the reduction proposed to me for the royalties, that is to say for the 10%, the 12% and the 15% for the first, the second and the other editions. But these percentages must be applied: the first to 3,000 copies, the second to another 3,000 copies, and the third to the editions that follow above 6,000 copies [...]". There is also a question of the republication of his book The Adventures of Mr. Dudron. Two letters from Maria Savinio concerning the publication of the Life of the Ghosts by Alberto Savinio and Hebdomeros by Giorgio de Chirico are enclosed.
