Many of his projects are ŕ the origin of considerable advances in the thinking that architects were then doing on modern urbanism, he was avant-garde in his use of concrete. In 1914, he defined and framed the project for the Lyon International Urban Exhibition, a proposal established in the imaginary "Industrial City" he had created: the Cité Moderne. Tony Garnier designed one of the posters. The Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon remains the witness of this adventure.
